Business Activity Statement (BAS) agents specialise in managing your tax obligations, particularly in areas such as GST and PAYG withholding – so having one on your side is a smart, time saving move that allows you to focus on growing your business.
Appointing a BAS agent offers a number of advantages, including:

Expertise in BAS Compliance: BAS agents have specialist training in BAS compliance and understand tax law. Their sole purpose is to offer you expert help when it comes to your GST, payroll, and other financial obligations.
Lodgement and Payment Extensions: Need a little extra time to get your financial self together? A BAS agent can often finesse deadline extensions for lodgements and payments.
Fewer Corrections: When an agent deals with your BAS, they’re less likely to make mistakes. Fewer corrections mean smoother sailing during tax time and less stress for you.
How to Appoint a BAS Agent in Australia – HOW TO LINK
If you’re sold on the idea of a BAS agent (and who wouldn’t be) there’s a series of once-only steps you’ll need to complete:
Step 1: If you don’t already have a myGovID, you’ll need to set one up. Go to myGovID and follow the easy steps. Next, link your myGovID to your Australian Business Number (ABN) in the Relationship Authorisation Manager (RAM).
Step 2: Log in to Online Services for Business.
Step 3: Select PROFILE then AGENT details. In the AGENT NOMINATIONS feature, select ‘Add’.
Step 4: Type in our BAS agent number – 26257291 – and select Fiona Todd as your BAS Agent.
Step 5: Tick the ‘True and Correct’ declaration and click ‘Submit’.
Step 6: Email fiona@sherpabookkeeping.com.au to let her know you’ve completed the nomination (the ATO will not automatically notify us).
Important: Do not share your myGovID! It’s there to help prevent any unauthorised access to your client accounts and financial information, and if you’re unsure about anything, give us a call on
